The basic configuration of the FC 1105 comprises a cross traverse, horizontally mounted table forming the X and Y axes. The X slide is designed to hold a worktable onto which the various clamping devices are fixed. The Z-axis, set in the vertical position, is independent of the X- and Y-axes and houses the spindle unit. The slides are mounted on high-precision pre-stressed rails, the axes being driven by ball screw assemblies and numerical closed-loop control.
In order to take full advantage of the possibilities of this universal milling/ turning center, the FC 1105 dividing head is equipped with a turning axis powered by a torque motor. Depending on the size of the workpieces, up to six cutters can be attached.

Thus equipped, it has the necessary capacity, coupled with the required rigidity, to ensure turning operations that correspond to the typical needs of high-precision mechanical engineering.
The FC 1105 also boasts extreme flexibility. Its basic configuration, including a GE-FANUC numerical control, is equipped to accept supplementary modules and equipment: rigid tapping, tool-break detection, preheating. Their choice depends on the type of machining to be carried out and the requirements to be met. This evolutive potential opens the door to long-term exploitation.
